Sky Sports has reported record viewing figures for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The broadcaster said the tournament generated 15 million viewer hours, making it the most-watched edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup on Sky Sports since comparable records began in 2016.

England’s run to the final helped drive the increase. Matches involving the hosts averaged 381,000 viewers, up 69% on the 2024 tournament, while the final against Australia attracted a peak audience of 678,000 – the largest ever for a Women’s T20 World Cup on Sky Sports.

Interest also extended across digital platforms. Sky said its live blog covering the final generated more than 250,000 views, while the opening match between England and Sri Lanka, which was made available free-to-air on the Sky Sports app and YouTube, reached a peak television audience of 510,000, with almost 75,000 additional viewers watching via YouTube.

The figures continue the rapid growth of women’s sport on television, with broadcasters increasingly using a combination of premium subscription coverage and selected free-to-air distribution to broaden audiences and attract new fans.

Sky’s coverage of women’s cricket continues this month with the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s between England and India, followed by The Hundred and the Vitality Blast Women’s Finals Day.

The broadcaster’s wider women’s sports portfolio also includes expanded coverage of the Barclays Women’s Super League from the 2026/27 season, the WTA Tour, golf majors including the AIG Women’s Open and Solheim Cup, and MVP boxing events.
